Joseph Nitti is the Managing Partner of Nitti & Nitti and has been in private practice since 1986, primarily focusing his practice in the area of family law and estate planning. Joe is a certified mediator and collaboratively trained lawyer and serves on the court’s Early Settlement Panel to assist the court in resolving cases before trial. He also leads the firm’s divorce mediation practice, a service dedicated to helping couples navigate divorce more efficiently and amicably.
Throughout many years of handling family law matters, Joe has always offered his clients several options toward resolving their issues. As a litigator, he vigorously advocates for his clients and will take the dispute to trial when a favorable outcome can not be achieved through other means. However, the vast majority of cases settle without much litigation. It is therefore important that an attorney has the skills to resolve matters by persuasion. Over the many years of practice, Joe has developed excellent negotiation skills that have helped resolve difficult cases through the mediation process.
In addition to litigation, Joe offers his clients and other referring attorneys alternate dispute methods. As a certified mediator and collaborative trained attorney, Joe is able to give his clients options that they may not have with other family law attorneys when it comes to resolving a dispute. In particular, he provides divorce mediation services, using his courtroom experience to guide couples toward fair agreements on issues such as custody, support, and division of assets.
